The World’s first artistic representation of the Gömböc.” This fascinating masterpiece is ideal for collectors. The World famous porcelain manufactory in Herend (Hungary) produces this exciting object. Herend Porcelain Manufactory was established in 1826, in the small village of Herend. It is the first Central European company that was elected among the French Associtation of Luxury Goods Manufacturers. It is made from white porcelain, fired at 1,400°C and hand painted by the masters of the manufactory with the formulae of the original Gömböc proof. The porcelain version is a pseudo-Gömböc because of its hollow interior. It was not intended as perfect copy of the mathematical definition but as an interpretation of it in the space of art, design and lifestyle. This makes Herend’s first dynamic shape not only a truly unique object, but the World’s first artistic representation of the “Gömböc”. What is Gömböc?The ‘Gömböc’ (pronounced: ‘goemboets’) is the first and only known homogenous object with one stable and one unstable equilibrium point, thus two equilibria altogether on a horizontal surface. Not clear yet? No matter what you do with it, it always gets back to its only stable point of equilibrium.
