Herend Canada is proud to announce its role as the Official Trophy Sponsor of the 2026 Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham, taking place August 14–16, 2026, in downtown Markham, Ontario.
This exciting partnership brings together two worlds defined by precision, performance and excellence: the speed and innovation of INDYCAR racing and the timeless artistry of Herend porcelain.
Two Custom-Designed Herend Trophies
For this prestigious Canadian motorsport event, Herend has created two custom-designed porcelain trophies, each handcrafted and individually hand-painted by master artisans in Herend, Hungary.
Every detail reflects the exceptional skill and care behind Herend porcelain. From the initial design and sculpting to the firing, glazing and final brushstrokes, each trophy is brought to life through a meticulous process rooted in centuries-old techniques. The result is not simply an award, but a one-of-a-kind work of art created to honour extraordinary achievement on the track.
Celebrating 200 Years of Herend
The partnership is especially meaningful as the Herend Porcelain Manufactory celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2026.
Founded in Hungary in 1826, Herend has become one of the world’s most celebrated names in luxury porcelain. Its creations are known for their intricate hand-painted decoration, remarkable quality and enduring elegance. For two centuries, generations of highly trained artisans have protected Herend’s traditions while continuing to innovate in design and craftsmanship.
Presenting Herend trophies at one of Canada’s premier motorsport festivals is a fitting way to celebrate this historic milestone. Both Herend and INDYCAR represent an uncompromising commitment to precision, discipline and exceptional performance.
A Proud Moment for Herend Canada
“We are incredibly proud to see Herend become part of such an important Canadian motorsport event during the Manufactory’s 200th anniversary year. These trophies were specially created to recognize the talent, dedication and outstanding performance of the winners. Bringing together the excitement of INDYCAR racing with the artistry of hand-painted Herend porcelain feels both unexpected and very special. Each trophy represents many hours of skilled work and generations of knowledge. We look forward to seeing these unique pieces presented on the podium in Markham.”
A New Chapter for Racing in Ontario
The 2026 Ontario Honda Dealers Indy marks the event’s first year in downtown Markham. The three-day festival will bring the excitement of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES to a new 12-turn, 3.52-kilometre temporary street circuit from August 14–16.
As drivers compete at the highest level of North American open-wheel racing, the custom Herend trophies will await the winners—lasting symbols of victory, artistry and excellence.
Herend Canada is honoured to support this remarkable event and to introduce the beauty and craftsmanship of Hungarian porcelain to motorsport fans across Canada and around the world.
